MUD, the official video game of the FIM Motocross World Championship: prepare to face the scramble, the jumps, the mud and the dust of the MX1 and MX2 world championships!
Motocross is an off-road racing sport that takes place on incredible closed tracks, composed of both natural and artificial slopes and jumps. Mud and dust rule and to win you have to fight, curve by curve, jump by jump, all the way to the end of the race. Motocross is one of the hardest sports there is: riders take a beating to their wrists, shoulders and knees and to compete at the highest level they must be in perfect physical and mental condition.
The same goes for the machines the drivers take to the race: a motorcycle that can face the challenges of tracks like those in the FIM Motocross World Championships must be carefully prepared in every way. The biggest motorcycle manufacturers in the world participate: Aprilia, Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki, TM, Yamaha.
MX1 is the premier class in Motocross: it was formed in 2004 as a substitute to the 250 class, and in the beginning it showcased an exciting challenge between the 'old' two-stroke bikes and the 'new' four-strokes. The superiority of the later (world titles were always won by riders in the seat of a four-stroke bike) guaranteed their supremacy in the category, dominated first by Belgian riders and then by the Italians.
Among the leaders in the category are the Italians Tony Cairoli, 5 time world champion, and David Philippaerts, the Belgian rider Steve Ramon and new talents such as Frenchman Steven Frossard and the Russian rider Evgeny Bobryshev.
Also in 2004 the MX2 class was formed, taking the place of the 125 world championships, and was characterized immediately as the class in which the young stars of world motocross could be showcased. As in MX1, the four-stroke bikes also dominate this category.
Riders that have risen to the top in recent years are the German Ken Roczen, Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings, the British Tommy Searle and the Frenchman Gautier Paulin.
In MUD - FIM Motocross World Championship you can compete with more than 80 actual champions on the most exciting tracks of the championships, travelling from one part of the world to the other: Bulgaria (Sevlievo), Holland (Valkenswaard), USA (Glen Helen), Brasil (Indaiatuba), France (Saint Jean d'Angely), Portugal (Agueda), Spain (La Baneza), Sweden (Uddevalla), Germany (Teutschenthal), Belgium (Lommel), Great Britain (Matterley Basin, Winchester), and Italy (Fermo).
